Job Description

An experienced Quantity Surveyor is required within a national energy infrastructure organisation responsible for transporting and maintaining the essential networks that keep Britain moving. Their work ensures secure energy supply for homes, businesses and industry, while supporting the transition toward net zero.

In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of NEC contracts, guide junior colleagues and provide clear commercial insight across a range of projects—from control system upgrades and asset decommissioning to new builds and hydrogen transition work. You’ll lead end‑to‑end contract administration, including payment processes, early warnings, compensation events and change control, while overseeing forecasting, risk management and supply‑chain performance. You’ll also support procurement activity, tender evaluations and negotiations, working closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure strong compliance, value for money and successful delivery. Hybrid working is available, with travel to sites and offices as required.

You’ll require experience with NEC contracts, strong commercial acumen and a full UK driving licence. Security Check (SC) clearance is required (or the ability to obtain it).

Salary & benefits: Competitive salary circa £65,000, hybrid & flexible working, bonus, 12% pension, extra leave options, family‑friendly policies, long‑term illness protection, company car, flexible benefits including private healthcare, plus support for professional development and membership fees.
