Job Description
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a main contractor in the construction industry, that works within housing, hotels, education, healthcare, and industrial sectors. They have been operating for over 30 years and have a strong base of repeat business due to their detail and quality. They are based near Portsmouth, Hampshire and most of their sites operate across Hampshire, Dorset, and West Sussex areas. They are now seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic construction team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to develop their career within the construction industry, providing valuable experience in cost management and project administration. The successful candidate will support senior surveyors in preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring financial efficiency across projects. A strong organisational skill set, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are essential for this position. This will be an immediate start, offering between 55k - 60k p/a DOE and will be a full-time office based role, working from their office near Portsmouth, Hampshire.

- Tender preparations
- Risk Management
- Site Valuations
- Site Visits
- Managing Sub-Contractor Payments
- Final Accounts
- Prepare Initial Budgets
- Negotiate Contracts
- Managing Cash Flow
- Putting together trade packages such as groundworks, M&E and drainage for examples
Requirements
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Qualifications within surveying or a degree equivalent
