Assistant Quantity Surveyor London

Location: London (Project-based with occasional remote working)

We are looking for an experienced and talented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Project Surveyor with quantity surveying duties and provide effective financial and contractual control on all allocated contracts within the London business. This role is project-based, with flexibility for occasional remote working.

About the Role
  • Assist the Project Surveyor with quantity surveying duties across allocated contracts.
  • Provide effective financial and contractual control on all assigned projects.
  • Undertake costing activities, ensuring accurate cost coding and forecasting.
  • Measure and value completed works for interim and final accounts.
  • Support in preparing and managing subcontractor accounts, procurement, and payments.
  • Collate and produce site records necessary for interim and final account payments.
  • Work closely with project teams to develop commercial awareness.
  • Provide financial reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with JCT contract terms and commercial procedures.
Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a commercially related subject (BSc/HND or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and cost management principles.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
  • CIOB or RICS Membership (preferred but not essential).
