Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced OpenTelemetry Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise observability solutions using OpenTelemetry. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in observability architecture, telemetry pipelines, distributed tracing, and monitoring platform integrations across cloud and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-wide OpenTelemetry architecture and observability frameworks.
- Define telemetry standards, governance, and best practices for logs, metrics, traces, and events.
- Architect scalable OpenTelemetry Collector deployments and telemetry pipelines.
- Lead integration of OpenTelemetry with monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, and New Relic.
- Design telemetry routing, enrichment, filtering, and transformation strategies.
- Drive observability maturity initiatives, root cause analysis (RCA), and AIOps enablement.
- Collaborate with application, cloud, platform, and SRE teams to implement observability solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentoring to engineering teams.
- Develop implementation roadmaps, standards, and operational guidelines.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry architecture and implementation.
- Deep understanding of distributed tracing, metrics, logging, and observability principles.
- Expertise in OpenTelemetry Collector deployment and management.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices-based architectures.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience integrating with enterprise monitoring platforms.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong understanding of SRE, incident management, and RCA practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing observability solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Exposure to AIOps and intelligent observability platforms.
- Relevant cloud or observability certifications.
