Job Description
A specialist multi-discipline roofing and cladding contractor is seeking a Roofing and Cladding Estimator to manage a high-value tenders across both flat roofing and rainscreen cladding systems, with project values ranging from £200k to £4M+.
Start Date : ASAP
Salary : £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
Hours : 08:00 - 17:00 (Mon-Thu) | 08:00 - 16:00 (Fri)
Contract : Permanent
Location : Essex
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed tenders and undertake accurate take-offs for both roofing and cladding packages.
- Calculate labour, material, and preliminary costs using Excel and Bluebeam.
- Manage the full lifecycle of the bid, from initial enquiry to final price negotiation with the client.
- Ensure all cladding designs comply with non-combustible requirements for buildings over 18m.
- Source and negotiate quotes from specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with the design department to develop acceptable construction solutions for secured projects.
- Conduct comprehensive handover meetings for the surveying and management teams upon project award.
Requirements :
- Essential: Minimum of 5 years' experience estimating in both Flat Roofing AND Rainscreen Cladding.
- Technical knowledge of Flat Roofing systems: Bauder, Radmat, IKO, Axter, and Kemper.
- Technical knowledge of Cladding systems: SFS (Metsec/EOS), CWCT Aluminium rainscreen, and fire barriers.
- Proficient in Bluebeam estimating software and advanced Excel.
- Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings and target U-value requirements.
- Professional communication skills for client-facing negotiations.
