Job Description
We have been retained by a leading global Facilities and Workplace Services provider to appoint an exceptional Operations Director. As part of a strategic investment programme, our client is seeking a high-calibre leader to oversee and grow its Public Sector and PFI operations, building on an established and significant presence across both public and private sector markets.
The Role
Reporting into the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of a £100m+ turnover PFI and Government Services business. You will be accountable for delivering sustainable growth, operational excellence, profitability, and customer satisfaction across a diverse portfolio of contracts and service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of a diverse portfolio of public sector and government contracts, with full P&L accountability.
- Develop and execute business strategies that drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and long-term sustainability.
- Manage senior leadership teams and foster a high-performance culture across regional and national operations.
- Ensure compliance with government procurement frameworks, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, public sector clients, framework providers, and key stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, operational efficiency programmes, and digital transformation projects.
- Oversee risk management, governance, health & safety, and quality assurance across all business activities.
- Lead bid mobilisation, contract transitions, and large-scale transformation programmes.
- Deliver strategic workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning to support future growth.

- Proven success managing a £100m+ turnover public sector and government services portfolio.
- Demonstrable track record of improving operational performance and profitability through process optimisation and commercial excellence.
- Experience strengthening client relationships, resulting in contract extensions, framework renewals, and new business opportunities.
- Successful delivery of large-scale organisational change and transformation programmes while maintaining service excellence.
