Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing construction business specialising in modular construction, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of high-value projects, managing all aspects of cost control, procurement, valuations, and financial reporting from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for allocated projects.
- Prepare accurate measurements, valuations, variations, interim applications, and final accounts.
- Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and monitor project budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, and payments.
- Monitor cash flow and support effective cash collection processes.
- Attend regular commercial and finance meetings, providing accurate project reporting.
- Support business development activities and contribute to identifying new opportunities.
- Provide regular commercial updates and reports to senior management.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Desirable
- Significant experience working on groundwork, drainage, excavation, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying or membership of a relevant professional body.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and associated costs.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, contractual obligations, breaches, and remedies.
- Familiarity with a range of procurement routes and industry best practices.
- Awareness of current construction legislation and regulatory developments.
- Experience using estimating software such as Conquest.
