Cloud Architect
Currently on the lookout for a seasoned Cloud Architect with a passion for designing and implementing cutting-edge AWS solutions? My client are hiring for a confidential, high-impact role with a Defence consultancy that’s heavily invested in our nations security.
Location: Manchester (3 days per week in-office, hybrid working)
Salary: £80k
Clearance: eDV clearance is essential
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and lead cloud migration strategies on AWS, defining cloud reference architectures and patterns for a large multi-account AWS estate.
- Solve complex business challenges as an AWS subject matter expert, leveraging services like EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, and IAM.
- Drive DevOps and CI/CD practices, working with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and more.
- Champion AWS security and network services, ensuring robust cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate within an Agile framework, mentor junior engineers, and motivate teams to adopt new tools and set high standards.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong experience in AWS cloud platform architecture and solving complex business issues.
- Proficiency in Java programming and Linux, with desirable knowledge of Apache NiFi, Node.js, JSON/XML, Jenkins, Maven, BitBucket, or JIRA.
- Hands-on experience with scripting (Shell, Bash, Python) and a solid understanding of Linux, networking, routing, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with operational concepts like monitoring, observability, and FinOps in AWS.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Have:
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Security, Advanced Networking).
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum@Scale).
- A passion for mentoring and stakeholder management.
