Job Description
A leading construction and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Civils Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Scotland. This position offers involvement in a diverse portfolio of works including roads, drainage, groundworks, and residential developments.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in ensuring projects are commercially managed from pre-construction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Managing commercial activities across civil engineering projects.
- Preparing cost plans, estimates, valuations, and financial reports.
- Administering subcontractor procurement and account management.
- Assessing variations, compensation events, and contractual claims.
- Monitoring project budgets and forecasting final costs.
- Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual advice.
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundworks projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract.
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project reporting.
- Excellent analytical and commercial skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Full UK driving licence.
