Estates Surveyor (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Ipswich (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £42,000 + discretionary bonus (£1,750)
Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Working Pattern: 3 days office-based / 2 days home working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estates Surveyor to join a major UK infrastructure and property organisation, managing a diverse commercial property portfolio across sites in Ipswich, King's Lynn and Lowestoft.
This role offers the chance to work within a varied commercial estate, supporting the effective management, development and optimisation of a significant property portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in landlord and tenant matters, asset management and stakeholder engagement across multiple locations.
The Role
Reporting into the Estates team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a mixed commercial property portfolio, ensuring assets are well maintained, compliant and delivering maximum value.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing landlord and tenant matters including lease renewals, rent reviews and licence agreements
- Conducting regular property inspections and site visits across the portfolio
- Supporting asset management initiatives and property development opportunities
- Overseeing maintenance and repair projects
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety requirements and property regulations
- Building strong relationships with tenants, contractors and key stakeholders
- Providing professional property advice to support business objectives
- Assisting with budgeting and financial management of estate activities
About You
We are keen to speak with property professionals who have experience managing commercial estates and property portfolios.
Requirements include:
- Degree qualified in Estate Management, Surveying or a related discipline
- Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS) desirable but not essential
- Experience within a commercial property environment
- Industrial, infrastructure or large-scale estate management experience would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of landlord and tenant matters, property legislation and estate management principles
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a wider team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems
